THIS IS A ROLEPLAYING ACCOUNT FOR TAKI HAGINOSUKE.
For Taki, being bumped from the regulars was the first step in taking some wind out of his sails. The second was the death of his younger sister, whom he cared for most out of anyone he knew. Now at 21, Taki is nothing like the spoiled, Hyoutei brat he was from his junior high school days. Everything in him was changed anew except for his eye-shrouding haircut, bizarre sense of humor and love for language.
While he could not completely stray from the business world lest he wished for his elderly father to have an apoplexy, Taki chose a major that would both satisfy himself and his father: human resource management as he had picked up a strange enthusiasm for talking to and being around people while tennis slowly faded out of his life. Minors in Chinese and English would only compliment his major. His reason was that working in the human resource department requires exceptional skills in communication, and the more languages he knows, the better he will be able to communicate with a diverse range of people. In actuality, he just really wanted to learn more about foreign languages because language was his calling.
After talking up some old friends in Osaka (he had spent every summer from when he was five in Osaka and had naturally made some friends), he landed himself a position in mass tour guiding in Den Den Town, a big shopping/tourist site for anime and electronic freaks, among other less unruly individuals. After all, he had often been told that he was a magician with words who could make something as mundane as brushing teeth sound interesting and had an appealing spice in what would otherwise be a deep and smooth voice. While his mother may not be all that thrilled about her son talking his voice hoarse into a megaphone three out of the seven days of the week, Taki could tell that she was proud of her second oldest son for being independent and strong on his own.
In the end, especially after the sudden loss of his beloved sister, no matter how much he tried to twist his words otherwise, the truth lies in that family always came first to Taki. Now that he was mature and knew who he was, Taki also knew that in the event that he was to choose between his family’s happiness and his own, he would, without a doubt, choose the former.
Even so, despite his mother’s apparent joy in bringing girl after girl for him to meet, he prays on every shooting star for her to give it a rest…
